This is Why We Do What We Do. Because of your continued support, we were Honored to surprise-deliver a memorial plaque to Honor Lieutenant Fred P.D. Beers III, who selflessly served with the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office. Lieutenant Beers lived a life of service — from his years in the Air Force to his dedicated work in law enforcement, CSI, SVU, and Metro Air Support. Beyond the badge, he was a Scoutmaster, Civil Air Patrol Officer, Special Olympics volunteer, and a Hero who once saved 21 lives stranded on Sandia Peak. For his Heroism, he was awarded the Life Saver Award. On July 16, 2022, Lieutenant Beers tragically lost his life in a helicopter crash. Today, we say: Rest easy, Brother. We have the watch now.
