Tuning started Tuesday the week of the Showdown, and it turned out to be a bit more work than we anticipated. 😵‍💫🥴🛠️ 💻 Tuesday morning the bike shows up to Allon Mcbee’s Race Shop to tune the High Flow Air Intake, with the Feuling 508 Cam and our Custom X Pipe Dual Upsweep (no baffles). Those mods weren’t the issues. The issues were deleting the speedo, this stopped us from seeing what mode the bike was in, and with the TTS Tuner we had, Sport Mode is the only mode you can tune in. Once we tackled that and got the bike on the dyno and ready to tune, we quickly realized the previous generation interval bar Throttle By Wire Assembly wasn’t calibrated to work with the 2025 ECM. So even through the throttle would rev the bike up, it wasn’t actually directly correlated to the twist you were doing. Once we figured that out, we plugged in the original Throttle By Wire Assembly and zip tied it to the risers to finish dyno’ing and even doing some street testing. We quickly got locked out of the ECM during the tuning process. So now we have a untuned bike with a Mickey Mouse throttle assembly, the day of our video shoot, and 2 days before we need to ride it to the showdown. That evening, Tuesday Night, was the start of our video shoot for the bike reveal that needed to be released on Friday. Back at our shop, we went through all our options, “How do we not use the stock hand controls?” “Let’s just put the stock hand controls on, it’s our only option” “what else can we do” “how can we relocate the 2025 TBW but not have to have these ginormous hand controls and lose the cool controls in the frame?” All of these questions are stirring through our heads into the late night as we film the bike reveal shoot. We even installed the original controls that night to have a look. Later that night about 2am we close up shop. And decide to think about it the next day (Wednesday) Wednesday morning we come up with the old school cable throttle actuating the electronic TBW unit, which actually we thought looked the coolest and worked the best of all of our ideas.
