To say there’s a lot going on right now would be an understatement. Obviously. How else should we describe these times exactly? Every hour brings a new surprise, delivered to us digitally via push notifications, DMs and texts-not all of them good. It is my hope that this first issue of @PRINTEDbyTheTease is a good surprise. I am thrilled that we are able to share “We’ve Always Been Here” from @jamiedigrazia and @mandaziegelman (both @redkenpro artists and @samvillahair ambassadors) for the first time. DiGrazia, founder and executive director of @hair_has_no_gender and Ziegelman created a bold collection that “celebrates queer identity, gender diversity and the beauty that exists beyond het binary” which feels more important now than ever before. For our cover story, “It’s Giving Disco,” brought to you by @purebrazilianhair, I was able to collaborate with the inimitable @janinejarman. Out shoot was heavily influenced by our shared love of 70s Cher and the slinky femininity of that time - a total fever dream made real. We also have @gooddyeyoung “Glitching Out” with masterful color placement on singer and brand co-founder @yelyahwilliams by the brand’s other co-founder @colormebrian. Pure eye candy escapism.
