Look at these beauties!!! Let’s take a moment to talk about these incredible Japanese sweet peas. I’ve always wanted to grow Japanese sweet peas and this year was given the opportunity to try some out. If you haven’t heard of them before, Japanese sweet peas are known for their incredible stem length, fragrance & vigor. Although seed can be hard to find, I was able to get some seeds last fall. I started them in late Oct/early Nov and tucked them into my unheated hoop houses where they’ve been growing ever since and I think these photos say it all. Are they as amazing as they say, absolutely! The flowers are huge, stems are long, the plants are touching the ceiling of my hoophouse and the fragrance is out of this world. I’ll definitely make sure that these beauties always have a place here on the farm and can’t wait to try even more next season.
