Before Carl Nassib became the @NFL’s first active, openly gay player he came out to his Uncle Bill while he was on his death bed. It was a weight off his uncle’s chest who was the only gay person in his entire family. Uncle Bill’s relief pushed Carl to tell the world. He was ready in 2019, but with all that went on in 2020 he didn’t feel it was the right time. Finally, in 2021 the time was right. He didn’t want it to be all about him.
