Happy Birthday to the love of my life, Michael. You are the heart and leader of our family—the man who makes everything happen with strength, love, and grace. You embody everything a husband and father should be. I am constantly in awe of all that you accomplish, your incredibly generous spirit, your huge heart, and your fun, loving nature. I truly can’t imagine going through life without you. We love you more than words can say. We had a chaotic (and very memorable!) family birthday dinner—with little Philip in quite the mood—and of course, we didn’t get the perfect photo with everyone smiling and posing just right. But sometimes, you just have to embrace what you get and be grateful that the moment happened at all. It was real and hectic but full of love.
