Do Hard Things / Ep. 06
“All gas, no brakes” has been @erichinman’s mindset since the HYROX 2024-2025 season began.
After competing in HYROX Doubles last year, Eric decided to step up his training to see how fast he could race solo. Years of Ironman racing had built a strong foundation, but reaching his true potential would mean training differently — scaling back Olympic lifts and dialing up his running.

“I think everything in life is more enjoyable and fulfilling if it’s earned. That’s why I do hard things. That’s why I put obstacles in my life.”
Eric continued to push himself through his new training regimen and saw progress at HYROX Vegas and Houston. By HYROX NYC, the hard work paid off. His first sub-60 race (59:19) and an age group victory. While HYROX World Championships didn’t go as planned, Eric knows there’s plenty more in the tank: “I’m hungrier than ever after that race, and I’m going to come back in the 2026 season with a vengeance. Expect the engine to be running full throttle next season ⛽️
