A new World Record. Coined the ‘Zombie Volcano’ due to its ongoing signs of unrest over the last 250,000 years, Bolivia’s Cerro Uturunco is 6,008 metres of intricate lava domes and flows. The challenge? To run a marathon across it at the highest altitude ever recorded. With a route starting West of Quetena Grande heading towards Campamento Minero Uturuncu, the journey was tough. Battling through oxygen levels that dropped by half, limited water supplies, temperatures of -16 °C, and a subconscious voice urging surrender at every turn, the finish line was met right on the mark. “History has been written once again, something I’m incredibly proud to say. Life is short, l’ve seen how quickly it can change, or be taken from you. This one is for the people who are no longer here. lintend on making it count until the day I no longer can.” Dedicating the challenge to his Godson, Archie, Josh is raising funds to help families affected by child loss.
