A beloved staple of our bar: A half-pint nip or a bottle to share, paired with a rarebit or without. Warming when cold, refreshing when warmer. Breton Cidre is a delight. When we opened our doors 30 years ago it was a curiosity to have this glorious cider on our lists - a quirk which, back then, we shared only with The French House. A dozen bottles would arrive packed loosely, clinking in an unmarked carton, king-capped with the odd drip of residue down the neck and all a little sticky. Although the dispatch has thankfully become somewhat slicker, it is now just as truly an artisanal enterprise as it was then. Our loyalty to its cloudy, farmy funk remains firm, and we are delighted that we are now able to deliver it ourselves, direct to its many fans, in that ever-popular shareable size and, we promise, no stickiness in sight.
