[ Windborne • Becoming ] The Artworks We have invited 3 Guest Collaborating Artists to explore the connection between wind and seeds with artworks. 1-3: Connected Contours Ⅹ- Ⅻ, 2025, Shoko Fukuda (Japan) Seeds, ramie thread, stainless steel wire,nylon cord,etc. “By connecting woven elements, I emphasize the organic movement of curves. The addition of plant seeds along the contours creates a rhythm of lines and dots, aiming to generate a natural flow throughout the work.Their natural shapes and subtle colors are preserved and integrated into the work.” 4-5: Helical Perpetuality 02, 2025, Scarlett Yang (Hong Kong, China) Recycled bio-based beads, woven aluminium mesh textiles, laboratory grade stainless steel structures. The work reveals a visible anatomy of mimetic organisms—an ecology made of semi-transparent textile beads, each crafted from recyclable bio-materials. These particles are not seeds in the traditional sense, nor mere materials. They simulate the process of mimetic evolution: aggregation, drift, fragmentation, reconnection. The entire structure embodies a spiral logic that suggests latent systems of life still waiting to emerge. 6-8: ANEMO, 2024, Patricia Varea Milán (Spanish) Hand-made ceramics, fired in a kiln with a reducing atmosphere at 1280ºC. Stoneware, porcelain with engobes and glazes. The seeds as a resource, are a source of raw materials, medicines, foodstuffs and handcrafts. Studying plant seeds teach us the importance of our environment and point directly to our obligation to explore the past and protect our shared heritage, thus inspiringy an active care for the environment and culture in the present.
