Nelson, BC has been firmly on the freeride snowboarding map for decades. Despite a steady stream of media output from the area, Nelson still feels inconspicuous compared to many other locations in the Pacific Northwest. Indeed, it feels like the lack of hype is by design. Still, the locals are proud of their small town and its endearing eccentricities, and the same applies to their ski area. Last winter, @austinbsmith, @soulboarder and @bigairmare scored the locals’ tour of their backyard during a deep, powdery week in British Columbia.
