Hi! We have so many new followers, so I wanted to introduce myself and my brand to you. I’m Megan Smalley (@megansmalley) and I’m so glad you’re here! I’m a mom of 3 wild boys… James, Stisher & Eli. I’m a basketball coach’s wife to my favorite guy! And I’m a small business owner, leader of some pretty amazing people. Growing up, I played on all-boys sports teams. I played basketball in high school and cheered during football season. I went on to cheer at Auburn which are some of my favorite college memories. I’ve always loved sports, and as I got older, I had a harder and harder time finding products that supported my team, weren’t in your face and had a feminine touch. I’m sure you’ve had this struggle too… You’ve walked through the doors of your favorite local bookstores or shopped your school’s online team shop and found nothing for you. The designs were masculine, the fit was not flattering and the quality was poor. So, like any entrepreneur, I decided to create it. The result . . . I started Scarlet & Gold, a woman-owned and woman-run business, in 2013. In 12 years, we’ve grown quite a bit. We are now licensed by more than 20 universities across the country. That’s my story.
