Winter touring mode..engaged! I recently swapped my @santacruzbicycles #stigmata from a gravel race setup to a chilleur winter touring vibe. Mostly this involved ditching the @sramroad 13spd XPLR drivetrain for a @srammtb transmission mullet drivetrain. The mullet offers the same 1x durability but with a much wider (10-46t for the XPLR Vs. 10-52t for the transmission) gear range for loaded touring. I also swapped from a racey 46t front ring to a spinnier 44t - so my climbing gear is a wild 44x52!!! I kept the @zippspeed 303 XPLR SW and put a fresh pair of the @goodyearbike 700x45 XPLR INTER tires on. I feel like these wheels are fast and smooth so I didn’t feel any drag from bigger knobbier tires on road sections, and was stoked on the added volume at the end of long days. Comfort = speed and stoke. I rocked almost a full @tailfincycling setup, the TT bag and frame bag are quickly becoming my favorites because they don’t bulge or move around, super solid and fully waterproof to boot! Also has a prototype @ivanhoemfg XS seatpack for quick layer access and my custom @titanium_tweaker_llc TFB’s camp cup dangling. Last but not least I’ve been slowly covering my @oakleybike ARO5 helmet with quotes and sayings and it’s starting to get covered in motivation and deep thoughts. Stoked for long slow miles in the cold!!!
