7 DAY ITINERARY ⤵️ This Washington State national parks road trip is quite literally the best road trip you can do in the US, coming from someone who has been to every single national park in the country. I’ve also lived in Washington for 8 years and have been to these each of these parks countless times. I recommend doing road trip in August or September for best conditions. You will need to plan for permits & accommodation ahead of time! 🌲 DAY 1 🌲 - Drive or catch the ferry (more scenic) to Olympic National Park - Stop in Port Angeles for food before driving up Hurricane Ridge - Explore Lake Crescent. Options: Marymere Falls, Mount Storm King, swim / SUP on the lake - Drive to Sol Duc Falls area and hike to the falls - End the day in Forks ☀️ DAY 2 ☀️ - Explore Rialto Beach (hike to Hole-in-the-Wall) - Drive to the Hoh Rain Forest area and hike the Hall of Mosses Trail - Drive to Ruby Beach for scenic views - End the day at Lake Quinault Lodge or Kalaloch Lodge (or a local campground) 🏔️ DAY 3 🏔️ - Drive to the Paradise side of Mount Rainier National Park - Hiking trail options: Skyline Loop Trail, Snow Lake, Rampart Ridge, Pinnacle Peak - Stay at Paradise Inn or Cougar Rock Campground 🪻 DAY 4 🪻 - Drive to the Sunrise side of the park - Hiking options: Mount Fremont Lookout, Silver Forest Trail + Emmons Vista Overlooks, Burroughs Mountain Trail - Drive out of the park via Tipsoo Lakes - Stay in Leavenworth & enjoy all the yummy food, cute Bavarian vibes & the Alpine Coaster 🥾 DAY 5 🥾 - Drive to North Cascades Scenic Highway via the Mazama area (stop at Mazama Store!) - Hiking options on this side of North Cascades National Park: Blue Lake, Heather - Maple Pass Loop - Stop at Washington Pass Overlook & Diablo Lakes Overlook - Stay at Ross Lake Resort or at a nearby campground 🌿 DAY 6 🌿 Flex day OR a hiking day for one of the North Cascades harder trails, like Sourdough Ridge, Cascade Pass, or Hidden Lake 🏙️ DAY 7 🏙️ Flex day!
