A super bloom is a phenomenon that sometimes occurs when a typically arid landscape experiences a wet year, especially one with significant winter rainfall, which provides the necessary moisture to break down germination inhibitors in the seeds. Many wildflower species in these areas have seeds that can remain dormant in the soil for years, waiting for optimal conditions to surface and transform the landscape into an unbelievably colorful dreamscape.
