TODAY WE SAY GOODBYE!😥🇮🇹 Sadly, today is the final day that Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano in Hollywood Studios will be open. Mama Melrose's has been a staple at the park, opening in 1991, back when MGM Studios (the park's original name) was fairly new & had only been open for a couple of years. The restaurant is the first of the existing locations to close in the Muppets Courtyard area of the park in preparation for the new Monsters, Inc. land that will be replacing it. We made sure to make reservations earlier this week to eat at Mama Melrose's one last time to say our goodbyes before the restaurant is gone for good. We have eaten here so many times over the past 30+ years that it holds a special place in our hearts with lots of memories & nostalgia. To us, the restaurant had a lot of charm, & the staff was always great. We are truly going to miss it. Our favorite meal here for the longest time has BY FAR been the NY Strip Steak!🥩 It was always our go-to, & one of the best steaks you could get inside a Disney park in our opinion! Absolutely delicious!🤤 I remember several years ago (maybe 8?) we had gone there to get it, but they had changed the steak option on the menu. We ordered the new steak, but it just wasn't the same at all.😩 We had let our server know how much we had enjoyed the previous NY strip & that we were disappointed that they had replaced it. She agreed with us & said that they had already had several other guests say the same thing. Well, they listened & ended up bringing it back! We were so happy to be able to enjoy it again! But now it will be going away once again. I guess, as they say, all good things must come to an end.😔 Thank you, Mama Melrose's, for all of the memories & yummy steaks you've given us over the years!🫶 You will be missed! * Disney, if you can hear us, PLEASE bring this NY strip steak entrée to another restaurant so we can continue to enjoy it!!🙏 Have you ever eaten at Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano in Hollywood Studios?
