Can you believe it’s been half a decade already❓😲 ➡️ ON THIS DATE, 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟏𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟎: Walt Disney World reopened after being closed for several months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The first parks to open were Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios followed on July 15, 2020. 𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐍𝐄𝐘𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐃 in California did not reopen until April 30, 2021 after being closed for well over a year! 𝐃𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐭 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨𝐨 𝐬𝐨𝐨𝐧? During the reopening of Walt Disney World in 2020, several precautions were implemented to ensure the safety of guests and staff. The guest capacity was significantly reduced to allow for physical distancing. An advanced reservation system was introduced to manage attendance and ensure limited capacity. Masks were mandatory for all guests aged two and older, as well as for all employees. Temperature screenings were required for guests and staff before entering the parks. Social distancing markers and signage were placed to encourage physical distancing in queues, attractions, and common areas. Enhanced cleaning protocols were implemented, particularly in high-touch areas such as rides, handrails, and restrooms. Numerous hand sanitizer stations were installed throughout the parks. Certain high-contact attractions, parades, fireworks, and character meet-and-greets were temporarily suspended or modified.
