Now you must excuse me, maybe it’s not Patina level old but I think the story of the Honda NSX Concept-GT and the Super GT–DTM merger is very cool. In theory, merging the Japanese and European series sounded amazing, but in practice, it wasn’t. Honda developed the Concept-GT with a mid-engine layout (the only one in the field), despite new front-engine rules. They stood their ground and were granted a special exception. I also didn’t like that all the chassis had to follow the same base design. While the layout was shared, GT500 tubs were made in Japan (likely by Dome Carbon Magic), while DTM used their own suppliers. Some details, like fuel fillers and exhaust exits, also varied. I must say, cosmetically I don’t mind the new NSX, but it should have been more HSV 010 inspired and it should’ve had a V10.
