Inspiring send from @srsheesley on ‘Yeitso’ “Keep the main thing the main thing 🦅 Massive thanks to Matt Gentile @matt_gentile1 for bringing this line into existence, and to my Pennsylvania (Climbnasium) roots for instilling in me that climbing is about far more than just the send. It’s about the relentless search, the hard-earned battles, and the commitment to something bigger than the outcome. This adventure wasn’t as straightforward as most. When I first saw this boulder I was living in Josh and all I knew was that it was somewhere in northern Arizona and that I had to try to find it. Always try. I spent six months traveling to and scouring every canyon I could find on Google Earth in this expansive and beautiful landscape, chasing what could be a dream line and experience, but I didn’t know that for sure. When I finally crested the rim on Oct. 27th, 2024 and I saw it standing there bigger than I ever imagined it hit me like a punch to the gut, but I couldn’t help but smile. I scampered down the steep canyon to confirm. The search was finally over! What followed was another three months of waiting, watching once a month as the seasonal water beneath it slowly receded before I could even begin the real work. I don’t believe everything should be handed out freely (including boulder access). So it’s nice that I can still live up to my own volition of climbing ethos. You have to pay your dues and earn your keep - a Northwest lesson I lived and breathed with Michal that will stay with me wherever I go. The climbs that make you fight for them both on and off the rock that demand patience, grit, and obsession - those are the ones that matter most. Thank you Drew for flying down from the NW for a the team takedown on this gem, a top 3 most enjoyable, hardest, and best boulder problem that I’ve ever done (it definitely isn’t number 3), and to put some skin in the game to live and experience some pure moments. Going for it alone, without a rope, would’ve been reckless. Without you, this boulder would still only have one ascent, and one less story to tell. Stay psyched friends and see you out there…” - Sam
