Protecting the places we love: North Devon, UK 🇬🇧🌊 The @northdevonworldsurfingreserve is the first World Surfing Reserve in the UK—and the first ever in a cold-water climate. Spanning over 30 kilometers of rugged, wave-rich coastline, it includes iconic surf spots like Croyde, Saunton, Woolacombe, and Lynmouth. The North Devon WSR brings together surfers, scientists, environmental organisations, local councils, and landowners to protect wave quality, enhance biodiversity, and embed surf conservation into regional planning and decision-making. With support from Save The Waves, the WSR is actively engaged in watershed restoration efforts, focusing on improving water quality, reducing agricultural runoff, and restoring natural river systems that flow into the surf zone. These projects help ensure the long-term health of the marine environment and support more resilient surf ecosystems.
