How I’m gaining confidence back in my 40s ❤️ Slowing down in work and life When I was overloaded at work I would never feel relaxed at home. I made bad decisions that then impacted my confidence. Having a slower pace is the biggest game changer. Finding exercise I actually enjoy. Endorphins make you feel good! Now I do a little exercise everyday that I enjoy like Peleton, Pilates or running and although it’s sometimes tough to get started, I always feel better for it afterwards. Becoming more adventurous Doing small things outside my comfort zone challenges me and makes me feel a sense of achievement on a different level to work. Giving up alcohol. I was never a big drinker, I just never enjoyed it. I feel healthier and more empowered being able to say no to peer pressure on nights out. Reigniting a hobby. Design is a big part of my job but having one day a week to paint without pressure is really liberating. I love my art days. Celebrating the small wins. No big work wins or huge deal breakers, just experiencing small moments I previously took for granted make me the happiest. Dressing for me. A bit of a no brainer but wearing what I want regardless of age and others opinions is a big confidence booster. As long as it’s colourful and I feel comfortable clothes should always be a confidence booster. What gives you confidence?
