This weekend, I successfully completed the 75 Hard program for the first time!! In full disclosure, I have attempted the program no less than 3 times in the past, and never made it more than 10 days. I always came up with some reason why one task or another wasn’t attainable - cold out so I couldn’t do an outside walk, a long travel day so I couldn’t drink a gallon of water or get a second workout in… but this time I’m proud to say that I tackled all those excuses multiple times over and found a way to get it done. I’ve been on 19 flights in the past 75 days, plus the last 3 weeks on a tour bus 🚌 There were many days I bought overpriced airport liters of water to get the water in or took brisk, 45 minute walks between terminals as a second workout 😆 I skipped Giordano’s AND Frank Pepe’s pizza, donuts and Oreos and the general junk food always on the bus, and bundled up in every piece of clothing I brought to do an outdoor walk in cold rain (NY, it’s almost June?! why are you still so cold). All for this one simple goal of proving to myself that I could finish something that I started. It’s not a “fitness” challenge by definition, but I will say I am happy with the changes in my body since day 1, March 10 ☺️ it’s not a secret that I struggle with my weight, and having a very - VERY - regimented routine like this is good for me. I saw beautiful places on my daily walks in each city that I never would have seen if not for this challenge. I did part of it at home and @thejoshv and I got to watch a nest of baby birds grow and hatch a few streets over in our neighborhood. Most importantly, I was able to reinforce my own inner discipline. The value of consistency, of showing up on days when you don’t want to or it’s inconvenient, of finishing things that you start. If you’ve been thinking about trying this challenge - DO IT. It’s not always fun but you will be happy you did!! Thank you to mastermind @andyfrisella - I promised myself I was NOT going to face *that* slide in the app again this time (second to last pic) and I’m proud to say I didn’t 😆 #75hard
