Mortal Kombat 2 is set to expand on the 2021 film by introducing Johnny Cage, played by Karl Urban, as a key new character. The sequel will finally showcase the long-awaited Mortal Kombat tournament, where Earthrealm must win to avoid an invasion by Outworld’s Shao Kahn. Returning characters include Liu Kang, Sonya Blade, Jax, Raiden, Sub-Zero, and Scorpion, alongside newcomers like Kitana, Jade, Sindel, and Quan Chi. The film promises a bigger, more intense cinematic experience with multiple realms, IMAX enhancements, and unexpected character comebacks.
