Back in the day we religiously posted on #transformationtuesday and we couldn’t resist the urge to post a little Before and After action from @mansioninmay today. Many of our visitors assume that the limestone fireplace in our room was original to the house and “came with” the room - but we can assure you, it did not! What the room came with was a very dated wood mantel that tied into very dated shelving, and some very dated marble and brass. We partnered with @explore.material to help us source the perfect mantel that felt like it actually could have “come with” the house (we prefer to pay respect to the homage and history of a home and it’s architecture). We landed on this limestone which has a cool tone that works perfectly with the cools in our plaid upholstery, and balances out all of the warmth we feel in the room. Then came the millwork - and we turned to @greene_st_joinery because we know they understand bespoke cabinetry. The upper doors have touch latches so as not to interfere with the diamond - reminiscent of the diamond suit in a deck of cards - with an inset of a linen-y grasscloth. And the smallest details that we are obsessed with - beautiful rivers on the doors’ interiors. Nothing was overlooked with this custom millwork. Not to be missed are the @modernmatterhardware hardware - brass with amazonite stone - and the champagne chiller from @royalgreenappliance. And we couldn’t have done it without our right hand man, @jhomar_homeimprovements who demo’d, built, installed and problem solved, all with a calm can-do attitude and a steady smile - one of the reasons we send many of our clients to him for our renovations.
