I don’t get to decide what’s beautiful for you, and you don’t get to decide what’s beautiful for me—that’s truth operating in freedom. My hope is that we start pushing back on the messages that try to box us in or tell us who we should be. When we begin to really see that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, those rigid standards start to fall apart. We make space for other people’s preferences to matter just as much as our own. And in doing that, we free ourselves—especially as women—from chasing ideals that were never meant to empower us, but to shrink us. We each have the right to embrace what feels true, and someone else’s difference doesn’t have to be a threat. That variety is what makes life rich—and when we allow it, it can deepen our shared experience as women, empower us to truly appreciate one another, and release us from the competitive spirit that’s been placed on us for far too long.
