On Monday night, Métier hosted the writer Joan Juliet Buck for an intimate reading at our New York Residency in Soho. Co-hosted with Zoe Ruffner, the evening kicked off a new in-store event series, “New York Stories,” which celebrates the city’s spirit through the voices of its creative writers. Buck read from her essay “New York,” first published in the October 1983 issue of Vogue. The article paints a colorful picture of the whirl of New York in autumn — “the season of superlatives” — and of the city’s glamorous energy and excesses during the early 80s. New York Stories will highlight community readings on a quarterly basis. Sign up to learn more about our events via the link in bio.
