When I was wrapping up the brand, I kept having this clear vision. One of the first things I wanted to do once the dust settled was make myself a dress. Kind of funny, considering I’d been “making” so many dresses for years, but this one felt different. No customer to consider, nothing to promote or sell. Just for me. From the source and with no strategy. I haven’t technically, or maybe traditionally, made “that” dress start to finish yet, but what’s come back full force is my love of creating in the moment. Draping and shaping on my own body…That quick, intuitive mode I’ve always loved. So on a recent trip to Jamaica, I brought 8 yards of leftover MH fabric and a pair of scissors. Voila. (I highly recommend playing like this. It’s freeing and it can lead to something really beautiful. ✂️)
