In honor of AAPI month, we're going to be sharing some of our favorite AAPI brands and artists. First up is our list of local NYC AAPI businesses that we need to tell you about, because what they're doing is amazing. ❤️ 1. Heart of Dinner @heartofdinner Heart of Dinner is a nonprofit organization countering hunger and isolation for Asian-American homebound elderly by providing culturally thoughtful food paired with handwritten notes. Did you know that 1 in 3 Asian Elders live below the poverty line? (We did a collaboration with them in 2022, and we really love them. Consider checking out their LIB and making a donation, they are doing absolutely amazing work!) 2. Té Company @tecompany Té is a New York-based tea company (in Manhattan’s West Village and East Village) specializing in Taiwanese tea. Founded in 2012 by Elena Liao and Frederico Ribeiro, the company sources exquisite teas directly from small farmers in Taiwan. In addition to an array of loose leaf tea, Té is known for its exceptional tea snacks, including the beloved Pineapple Linzer. Take a quiz on their website to see which is the best tea for you! (This is Trisha’s favorite place to curl up with a book on a rainy day) 3. Stick With Me @swmsweets In the heart of New York City's vibrant Nolita neighborhood, Stick With Me was founded to redefine the art of gifting chocolate. Drawing from the founder’s experience as the chocolatier at a three Michelin-starred restaurant, the same level of meticulous care and attention to detail is brought to every creation, elevating each bonbon into an edible work of art. (Trisha took a class here once and was the only non-culinary professional! Brave!) 4. Florists Kan Asakura and Tammy Hwang @flowerbykan A mix of Japanese Ikebana and Brooklyn nonchalance. Kan’s work can be seen at several Japanese restaurants and galleries in NYC. Kan Asakura Design provides floral design services for private clients, art galleries, and restaurants in the NYC area and beyond. (They’re Trisha’s go-to florists and they provided gorgeous flowers for our Goop event last year!) #maisonmiru #letsearparty #lovemadevisible #aapi
