Lucky Supply Salutes Cindy Ray This International Women’s Day! 👩‍🦳 In 1961, at just 19 years old, Bev Nicholas answered an ad in a local newspaper asking for a model willing to shave their eyebrows for a photoshoot. Open to the experience, she applied and and the shoot was a success. The Photographer then suggested she undergo heavy tattooing, leading to her taking on the iconic name Cindy Ray. As Australia’s first tattooed lady, Cindy Ray became a trailblazer in the tattoo industry. However, the journey wasn’t without its challenges. When photographer Harry Bartram branched out into the tattoo supply business, he created a machine in Cindy’s name—without consulting her. Fast forward over 50 years, and Cindy finally has the opportunity to be part of something she can truly call her own. Thanks to Lucky Supply, Cindy Ray collaborated on a tattoo machine she can be proud to have her name on. In honor of her groundbreaking contributions to the tattoo world, a portion of proceeds from each machine sold will go directly to Cindy, ensuring we take care of our own and celebrate the women who paved the way. Happy International Women’s Day, Cindy Ray! We honor you today and every day. #cindyray #tattoohistory
