Last Sunday at the Rivian Hub in Venice, Ella Emhoff hosted her Soft Hands Craft Club. Together, we took old fabrics and t-shirts, cut them into strips, and wove them into something new—yarn with purpose. Like riding a bike, the act was simple but meaningful: slowing down, connecting with others in person, and taking part in an analog activity where inspiration came not from a screen but from the people around us. There was no judgement here, only expression. Some made plant baskets, others keychains for their bikes or bags. I made a cargo net for my own bike basket—something functional, but also a reminder of what we created together that day. Ella, who has been a Linus rider since childhood, brought her own ease and playfulness to the gathering, making it feel less like a workshop and more like a conversation in craft. Grateful for everyone who joined, shared, and left with something made by hand. —Brie
