When I go through the big, painful changes in life, it often feels like I’m being broken, but I’ve come to see it differently. Rather than falling apart, I’m unfolding, like a blossoming rose. The old petals may fall away, though in doing so, they reveal deeper, more vibrant layers within. That’s the essence of this song, and why I knew @rachelplatten was the perfect person to sing it with me. I’ve been friends with Rachel for years, and she is truly a gem of a human.
