In communities across western Kenya, parasitic sand fleas known as jiggers burrow into the feet of children, leading to pain, infections, and even disability that keeps kids from school. Last month, thanks to a generous donation from @burjushoes and the partnership of public health officials, the LifeStraw team in Kenya treated 667 people and gave them new shoes—helping kids walk, run, and get back to school so they can learn again. We'll be holding more community outreach events in the months ahead, and we aim to reach 1,000 more school children before the end of the year.
