We've thought long and hard about it and a glass of fresh-squeezed lemonade ranks pretty high on our list! Combine that with a smile from a charming young lady running her first lemonade stand and you've got a winner! Remember the old days? Kids playing outside, the neighborhood 'lemonade' stand, and everyone enjoying the warm summer weather? Back in the day, the slow clip-clop of the horses hooves on the cobblestone street was the sound that let everyone know the 'Ice man' was coming. 'Icemen' would transport blocks of ice, often by wagon or truck, and use large tongs to carry and place the ice into customer's iceboxes. While the profession has become almost non-existent in modern times, the occupation lives on in many Amish communities, where ice is commonly delivered by truck and used to cool food and other perishables. This month, as always, remember the little things that can make your day better. Make an effort to take a break for yourself from time to time to 'enjoy the lemonade'.
