With my recent obsession for mountains and snowboarding naturally I gravitated towards splitboarding. I found that moving away from the busyness of resorts provided me with a sense of calmness and a higher level of appreciation for the environment and everything around me. šŸ”ļø It was an experience that put me outside of my mind and into my body. The repetitiveness of walking was almost like a moving meditation, constantly feeling present in the motion. Dropping was an elated experience. I was incredibly nervous as I was going over the lip for the first time ever. šŸ˜† My heart beat was racing and it was such a release when I dug my toeside in and felt the speed and the rush of floating through powder. I was actually riding a brand new board, the Axle by @g3gear. I sized up as I knew I’d be riding more open terrain and powdered snow. It was playful yet versatile enough to ride the mountains but also dart through the tree line as I ended my runs.
