We all need to remember that the belt squat, whether it’s the Mammoth or some other unit, is a training tool. It’s a solid substitute for traditional barbell squats (especially for those that can’t physically), but will feel different. With every style of unit, the movement pattern is going to be different resulting in an adjustment to the strength curve. No, this isn’t a bad thing like what a lot of people may think! It just means your muscles will be hit a little different, and this can vary from belt squat to belt squat. Some people prefer pulley, some people prefer lever. What matters is continuously pushing the style that YOU prefer. Barbell squats will ALWAYS be king, but supplementing those with belt squats or any other leg accessory movements will make anyone that much better of a lifter. But if you can’t barbell squat, the belt squat will supplement your leg training perfectly! #fringesport #homegym #garagegym
