We'll let you into a secret... you can create our famous wood-hack with paint! ❤️ Frenchic Expert Abi (over at @thewhitethistle) shows us how she created an oak-look effect using our classic cream shade 'Crème de la Crème' from the Lazy Range, our NEW warm, deep brown shade 'Drama Llama' from the Limited Edition Al Fresco Range and Frenchic Finishing Coat. 👇 Here's how she did it...  Step 1: Prep as always is key. I cleaned the tables with sugar soap and gave them a light scuff sand with 120 grit to help the paint stick. Step 2: I added some scallop trim to the front using my Xtool. You could also do this by hand with a jigsaw or ready-made trim. To attach, I used wood glue and screws. Step 3: Once everything was secure, I filled any gaps and smoothed out the edges with wood filler. When dry, I lightly sanded back any excess. 4: Time for paint. I used @FrenchicPaint 'Creme de la Creme' applied with an old, worn brush. The aim here isn’t a perfect finish — the more texture the better. 5: Now for the secret sauce. I mixed one part Frenchic 'Drama Llama' to five parts Finishing Coat. This creates a thin, milky wash that you can build up gradually. 6: I applied the wash with an old brush, again focusing on texture, and then used a clean, dry blending brush to soften and move the colour around until I was happy with the result. Make sure to brush in the direction the wood grain would naturally run. 7: Once dry, I finished off with new handles to complete the look. The end result is a soft, faux wood effect that feels warm and layered. Hands up if you're feeling inspired! ✋
