In 1987, Frank Frazetta painted 𝑫𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒉 𝑫𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒆𝒓 𝑰𝑰𝑰, the third in his legendary series, while unknowingly battling Graves’ disease. The original version (slide 1), which appeared on the cover of James Silke’s π˜‹π˜¦π˜’π˜΅π˜© π˜‹π˜¦π˜’π˜π˜¦π˜³: π˜“π˜°π˜³π˜₯𝘴 𝘰𝘧 π˜‹π˜¦π˜΄π˜΅π˜³π˜Άπ˜€π˜΅π˜ͺ𝘰𝘯, left Frazetta dissatisfiedβ€”he felt it portrayed the Death Dealer as defeated, weak, and dull. Later that year, once properly diagnosed and treated, Frazetta revisited the painting (slide 2). He intensified the atmosphere of dread, transforming the Death Dealer into an even more terrifying force of destruction. Every detail, from the blood-stained ground to the ominous posture, reinforces the sense that this figure is not merely a warrior but an embodiment of death itself. #DeathDealer #Frazetta #FrankFrazetta #FrazettaGirls
