Blue Is the Warmest Color: There’s a very happy soap tucked inside our limited-edition Bhutan Box. It begins with the Himalayan Blue Poppy — Bhutan’s national flower. Found only in pristine alpine meadows above the tree line, it grows at altitudes between 3,700 and 4,500 meters. Its botanical name, Meconopsis gakyidiana, translates to “happiness.” That word, and the philosophy behind it, are central to Bhutan’s way of life. The country measures success not by GDP, but by Gross National Happiness — the belief that well-being and harmony with nature matter more than economic growth. The poppy’s ability to bloom in such high, rugged terrain mirrors Bhutan’s resilience and its deep kinship with the natural world. We handcrafted each Soap Brick in that same spirit. Our second key ingredient is Cypress — a nod to Bhutan’s national anthem, which begins, “In the Kingdom of Bhutan, adorned with cypress trees.” The constitution mandates that more than 70% of the country remain forested, and indeed, walls of green cypress stretch across the landscape as far as the eye can see. To this, we added the warmth of Sichuan and Pink Peppercorn — a tribute to Bhutan’s essential spices — balanced with serene notes of Sandalwood and Lemongrass. The soap is thickened only with pure Pink Himalayan Sea Salt, French Clay, and hand-picked flowers. A beautiful souvenir from the happiest place on Earth. X Richard
