In the foothills of the Himalayas lies a secret collective named @bhutanblossoms . It is a social enterprise with a mission rooted in empowering female farmers in rural Bhutan through organic, high-quality production of flowers, herbs, teas and botanicals. In partnership with the Drachukha Flower Group — a pioneering female-led collective of young Bhutanese entrepreneurs who elected to stay in their remote Punakha valley rather than move to the city — Bhutan Blossoms supports community-based farming of edible flowers like Corn-flower, Calendula, Wild Mushrooms and specialty herbs. These women grew a certified-organic farm, processed and exported first harvests, and share profits with their wider community, funding micro-loans and local enterprise.
