Can you spot the differences between this silicone tail and the fabric version of it? This is our Dark Sea design, originally released as a fabric tail in 2020, and in 2024 we turned it into a full silicone tail. This is a great peek behind the curtain on our processes of turning silicone tails into printed fabric tails (and then sometimes into full silicone tails from there). Confused yet? 🤭 We’ll try to explain: in order for us to create and print hyper realistic fabric mermaid tails, all of our designs are first created as silicone pieces. Those pieces are then turned into a digital file. That file is printed and becomes a fabric tail. Sounds simple, but in the end it’s a highly complex process that has taken us years to perfect. Some of that can be seen here, by how different the fabric and silicone versions of this tail turned out! These days we like to think we can produce almost exact matches of a silicone piece into a printed piece. But you can see it was not always that way, given the differences seen here. Hopefully this shows how our methods have grown and evolved over the years. 🌊✨ What fabric tail design should we make into a silicone tail next? Let us know in the comments! 🧜🏽‍♀️
