The ring is a reflection of community. Every fighter, trainer, and photographer adds to the story. Everlast is collaborating with photographers around the U.S. to capture Latin American boxing communities through their own lens and perspective. Each city and each gym tells a different story, connected by the same fighting spirit. Kicking off the series is Jorge Rivera @saan.bee a Dallas-based photographer whose work highlights the pride of his local boxing scene. “When I think of boxing in my city, I see the young fighters with Everlast gloves, tattoos that read ‘Orgullo Mexicano’, families proudly showcasing championship belts and trophies. The presence of family is what makes boxing feel authentic to the culture as I know it. A lot of fighters I’ve met along the way have been trained by their fathers, uncles, and cousins since childhood. The energy you feel when they train has an inexplicably authentic grassroots feel.”
