Everlast was founded in 1910 by 17-year-old Jacob Golomb in The Bronx, originally making durable swimwear—hence the name "Everlast." In 1917, future heavyweight champion Jack Dempsey asked Golomb for longer-lasting boxing headgear. Golomb delivered, and Everlast soon expanded into boxing gear, becoming the choice of champions.
