2025 is the 30-year anniversary of @esskateboarding and by extension, 30 years of the Accel. Our shoe designer was tasked with creating something new to expand upon its legacy and the result is the Accel Fit. Digging into what made the original Accel such a beloved skate shoe, we concluded that besides the cushioning and durability, it’s the board control skaters feel that made it the favorite of many in the mid 90’s - 00’s. Proper control starts with a great fitting shoe so the aim of this design was to amplify control by achieving the best fit possible. We swapped traditional lacing for some lace loops to allow fine-tuned adjustment, added memory foam pods in the collar and tongue as well as a molded heel clip to hold the foot in place, and engineered an internal Lycra sock that wraps around underneath the foot for better forefoot control.
