Bassmaster Kayak Series Dale Hollow was incredible! I had never been there & it was surprisingly diverse - you could go green or brown. 🤷‍♂️😀 I arrived late Thurs and drove around looking at tribs & the backs of creeks. Put in for 2 hours & caught some solid smallies. Friday @ilyakkin & I decided we’d float into the lake w/ the new @crescentkayaks Smallie. It was a fun way to pre-fish & we caught some decent smallies on our way into the lake as we tried to determine the point in which we wouldn’t be able to make it up from the nearest launch. There is something pure about just grabbing a 10ft throw n go kayak, a @bending_branches paddle to do a float! We got to see some of the prettiest water in the entire Dale Hollow watershed. 🙌🏻 Day 1 I decided to chase shallow water smallies I’d found on Thursday & it paid off with a 92.75 inches - 10th place after day 1. Two baits were stars of the day, both by Pradco Brands which is a new hard bait & wire bait sponsor. The smallies were crushing the new @heddon_lures Spinnin Image & the @war_eagle_custom_lures Finesse Spinnerbait colorado/turtleback blade combo.😁 The only bummer was I had put new rods & reels together from @kastkingusa the night before & didn’t screw down my reelseat tight enough & lost a GIANT smallie - when I set the hook the reel popped out & when I started hand lining her she threw the War Eagle…ughhh. Could have been a 95+ day, but that’s on me. I am liking that Mega Jaws Elite 9:1 reel though…so long as you tighten the reel down properly! haha.🤣 Day 2 I decided to go largies. By 10am I had landed an 18.50 & 19.25 on a 7-inch @zmanfishingproducts Jerk ShadZ. I decided to stay largies instead of heading back to the smallies. With 2 hours I left I found some bedding & then proceeded to lose or botch one after another 17-20 incher 🤦 @torqeedo_fishing motor worked like a champ as always!👊🏼 Only slid 5 spots to end 15th of 232. Had a great time w/ the guys at the house & enjoyed some live music by @abbyabbondanzafishing & @jodyqueenfishing Thanks to @mychaoticfishing for rigging👊🏼 Thanks to @steve_owens_0207 @bass_nation & Byrdstown TN for putting on a great event! 👏🏼 @realtreefishing
