This Black History Month, Dr. Bronner’s is celebrating a constellation of 6 Black change-makers from the past & present who've changed & continue to change Spaceship Earth for the better! ✨🪐🌈⁣ ⁣ 1. Leah Penniman is a Black Kreyol farmer, mother, author & food justice activist. She's the co-founder of @SoulFireFarm, which works to “end racism in the food system and reclaim our ancestral connection to land.” We've supported & collaborated with Soul Fire Farm for many years.⁣ ⁣ 2. Dr. George Washington Carver was an agricultural scientist & inventor who used peanuts to develop many products, including soap! He advocated for environmentalism & sustainable farming techniques, and promoted crop rotation from cotton to healthier options, like peanuts & sweet potatoes.⁣ ⁣ 3. Naijha Wright Brown is the founder of @BlackVegSociety, co-founder of the pioneering vegan music festival @VeganSoulFest, organizer of @ChildrensVegFest (happening in June!), and co-owner of the vegan restaurant, @TheLandofKush. Her work largely addresses health disparities within Baltimore’s predominantly BIPOC communities through plant-based education & events.⁣ ⁣ 4. Amber E. Senter (@itsmeambere) is a queer Black woman, veteran, cannabis entrepreneur, and social equity advocate. She's the founder & CEO of @Makr.House, a California cannabis house of brands. Amber's also the co-founder, chair of the board, and executive director of @SupernovaWomen—a nonprofit focused on empowering people of color in the cannabis industry.⁣ ⁣ 5. Sebastien Vante is the director of @SafeHorizon’s Streetwork Project in New York, where he helps LGBTQ & BIPOC youth experiencing homelessness find community, connection & stability. Dr. Bronner’s has supported @StreetworkNYC and collaborated with Sebastien for many years.⁣ ⁣ 6. Gabrielle Souza (@muvasouza) is the executive director of @TheOkraProject—a mutual aid collective that focuses on supporting Black trans people, and alleviating the barriers that their community faces. They envision a safe, abundant & equitable life for Black trans people in the U.S.⁣ ⁣ Just as the stars in the sky live & die, new stars are always born that continue to shine. 💫
