#DesignDestinations | Deep in the heart of Brazil’s rainforest, a striking brutalist structure emerges from the canopy - the Bahia Orchestra House 🎵 Designed by Swiss architect Leopold Banchini for the Bahia Youth Orchestra, this elevated concrete pavilion seems to defy gravity. Resting lightly on slender stilts, it floats above the forest floor - a design that allows light, air, and nature to pass freely underneath, preserving the ecosystem it inhabits. The form is sculpted for sound: its open design enhances acoustic performance while giving each young musician an uninterrupted view of the lush tropical surroundings. From below, visitors glimpse moments of music and movement above - a poetic exchange between architecture and environment.
