This is how your jewelry is made! ❤️ Over the last couple of months I have been working on casting jewelry in my studio. It’s been a massive investment, learning curve and time commitment! Not shown in this video, I have created new molds of all my work so I can inject them with waxes to create the wax trees that go into the plaster investment flasks. This is the fun part, after the flasks have been in the kiln for 14 hours to burnout the wax and solidify the plaster I cast the jewelry by pouring molten metal into the mold! When that hardens up I have the finished jewelry in the form of a metal tree. The jewelry needs to be clipped off the tree and it is finished by grinding sprues, filing and cleaning up any imperfections and polishing. I’ve been lucky and have had a lot more successes than failures in learning this new process. But as mentioned, it’s very labor and time intensive. All of our jewelry is made by hand to order at the moment, so please be patient and expect to receive your orders within a couple weeks not a couple of days.
