From hoisting her bum as a puppy, to now as a senior, she's changed me in every way. I know she'll not always be here, and it drives me to make our time together worth it. We've just booked some very hopeful summer trips this year in the Rockies, and although I'm not 100% sure we can do them, we'll certainly try. I'm aware I might be asking her too much at her age, but hey, let's reach for the stars and see what we can grab.

Heaven. Arizona is just heaven for photography. I know people say you have to get off your phone in order to be present but I'm pretty sure I've saved every minute in a picture or video to be present here for the rest of my life. Throughout this trip I felt like I was walking through a sci-fi or fantasy novel. Everything just seemed unreal, too beautiful and this, this was the highlight. 📷 @little.moonriver

2025/2018 This slot was the highlight of my trip to Utah in 2018 with Whiskey. She was 4. I've been wanting to come back and introduce Bourbon to our favorite place. I think it's where teamwork, skill, and training gets tested in real life, and in the most beautiful place that has me already dreaming about coming back.  Whiskey's now 11 and I dare say she enjoyed this adventure as much as last time. I made sure my senior was in front leading since her experience lets me know what's needed and is able to make good decisions if we have to back up or work together. Bourbon had some thoughts about the puddles of water, as well as some technical moves but both dogs came out with happy tails and were excited the next day for more canyons. 📷🙌 @little.moonriver

Maybe it was never about the trip. Maybe it was about the kind of human I would become taking my senior dog on the same roads as I did when she was a pup.  Maybe it was about learning to appreciate the short and long time we've have together.  Maybe it was about slowing down. 📽️ @little.moonriver

We made it to Utah! It's even more beautiful than I remembered. I've been travelling with @little.moonriver in my Trillium trailer (Olive) visiting friends along the way and BOOM! Utah is just amazing.

Happy 11th Birthday Whiskey!!

Whiskey turns 11 in a couple days and I got a bit sad thinking how fast time passes. How much time do we have left? How many hikes? How many kisses 😭 So I looked back on our last year together, our 10th, and what a year! I'm so grateful to be able to celebrate life together ❤️ Hug your puppies because time passes so quickly, and hug your seniors because they've given you everything they have.
