Trophy Room: Weather Changes Everything. “I never would’ve thought I’d get a chance at this buck! I’ve had 3 years of history with him and I only have ever had 7 total photos in those 3 years. He always would move off the property a week before season. On December 5th I got a picture of him moving through the bedding area . Knowing there was a snow storm coming that night I thought there might be a slight chance the weather conditions could force him to move early enough to get eyes on him. So I grabbed my .5 and decided to try and slip into the bedding area before the storm hit. I kicked up several deer on my way out and I thought maybe this wasn’t the best idea but I found the perfect tree with good cover and hung my stand. I was getting covered with snow and thinking I might be wasting my time but then at 4:19pm I saw a big rack moving through the thick pines and I immediately knew it was him. I grabbed my bow and smoked him at 27 yards! He bounded off about 50 yards and crashed. I couldn’t believe I got it done on this buck I thought I would never get an opportunity on!” Congratulations @drake_ogren and way to Hunt Like A Wolf 🐺

Trophy Room: Freakshow Whitetail bucks are incredibly tough. This, is a mountain whitetail for the ages. Many years had come and gone since Tyson Pottenger and I had nicknamed this guy Freakshow. At 2.5 years old we both agreed that he was a “Freak” in genetics for his age. Fast forward to his 6.5 year of existence. Freakshow had grown up on our scrape sets. But now he was the king of the mountain and it was showing in his rut prowess. He was daylighting a fair amount as local does started cycling in. On a wet rainy morning, high winds, with a layer of snow on the ground, Freakshow made a move on a young spike buck that had caught his attention. The perfect distraction. At 18 yards, I 10 ringed the brute and he didn’t make it 10 more seconds. The blood trail was wicked in the rain pounded wet snow. Double lung pass throughs are a bowhunters blessing. On top of all of that, upon further inspection we found Freakshow had even been hit previously by another hunter in the face! It was a great day on the mountain. Trophy Room: Chess With Kansas I was fortunate enough to draw in Kansas. The back and forth started immediately. Multiple walk in properties. Hunting pressure at each turn. 5 days in with the .5 treestand and it was getting down to the wire. I drove 1.5 hrs away from where I was camped and found some luck. I used my maps to find a river bottom with draws leading down to cut corn and crp fields. I found myself in the perfect spot around 5:10 when this dude decided to chase his fate and he met his match… Checkmate. Congratulations @self_made_88 and way to Hunt Like A Wolf 🐺
