Triphasic Training W2 Marathon prep in full swing with an AM easy run at zone 2-3 followed by weight training 6 hours later building capacity, tendon strength and hypertrophy. Using both overspeed eccentrics and slow eccentrics to increase the strength in tissue. Eccentric deceleration to increase force absorption quickly and efficiently Improving injury resilience and neuromuscular timing. Slow eccentrics deceleration to build strength, tissue resilience, and movement control. Using 60-70% load for 6-8 reps at a 5 second eccentric for strength work. This will be followed up with a isometric phase. Triphasic developed by Cal Dietz @triphasic_training is a great system to help improve base performance. I’ll look to follow this up with my Condensed Conjugate programming to improve force output and dynamic speed as the volume of my runs comes up.
